School Overview
Machon L’Yahadus offers a core curriculum that includes textual studies, skills classes and traditional one-on-one (chavrusa-style) learning as well as lectures and workshops.
By the end of the first year, a full-time student will have mastered the basics of Jewish life, Jewish law and Jewish living. She will be familiar with traditional Jewish literature, specifically Torah, Shulchan Aruch and Talmud, as well as the mystical teachings presented in Tanya and other works of Chabad philosophy.
A special focus is placed on the thought and teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
Many students continue on for a second year of more in-depth study. Short-term study options are also available.
Schedule
Classes are in session from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily Monday through Thursday and Friday until noon.
Parallel classes are taught on two levels; beginners and advanced, with the Chumash skills class taught on three levels.
Afternoons from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. individualized chavrusa learning is offered in a wide-array of subjects.
Evening programming includes lectures, creative arts, Chasidic gatherings. Shabbatons to other cities are held throughout the year.
Dorm & Accommodations
Limited dormitory space is available for full-time students who meet certain requirements.
Other students typically find apartments within the Crown Heights community, though some students do commute from New Jersey, Manhattan and others parts of the New York Metro area.

This year’s student body hails from throughout the United States, as well as from Israel, South Africa, Moldova, Brazil, Columbia, Spain, Sweden and France.
They come from all walks of life, committed to having a unique experience.
